Sound #5
This sound is water drops falling from the floor above me in the St. Mary's parking structure. It sounds very similar to my second sound but still contains a distinctive, water splattering element that I like. The clip also sounds more open with room for the water to make a bit of an echo sound.
I wish I had a better pic than this one but I took it while I was walking.

To record the sound I placed both mics next to the ledge where the water was dripping.

Sound #4

This sound was taken inside the building pictured on top of a radiator. I forgot to take a picture of the radiator itself but it was in the main lobby of this retirement home; right next to a set of sliding doors. I thought this sound, though monotonous, gives a slight eerie feeling. The lobby was a very open space and made the sound seem to have almost an echo to it. This retirement home is located on the corner of Bradford and Stowell.

This a crazy sort of sound I found walking down Stowell Ave. Once I saw a couple walking their dog I just stopped walking and held out my mics. The dog started to bark at me as the couple came closer and I'm pretty sure they asked, "What's that guy doing?"
There was also a couple of college kids across the street yelling and slamming a door. I thought this sound clip had a huge diversity of different things going on and worked well. There's a car that drives by towards the end of the clip that I particularly like.

Sound #2

This sound was recorded in a sewer, as pictured. I placed both of the mics inside of the opening of the sewer. A lot of snow was melting that day and it led to a strong sound of water droplets. I was standing on the corner of Farwell and Bellview.

SOUND POST #1

Walking down Stowell Ave. I heard a couple of birds in the distance. The chirping was very dimmed by the wind and there was surprisingly little traffic to capture a decent bird call. I stood where the sound of the birds seemed most suffice and, with both hands, held both mics into the air.
Getting a quality moment of the bird call proved to be extremely difficult standing in the middle of the street. Also at the end of the clip is a nice sound of a car driving away. The sound isn't obnoxious and I think there's a nice subtly to it.

Drift Strategy / Drift Start Point

My Drift Strategy is simple. I will start out on a location of my choice (this being near Park Ave.) I will then walk one or two blocks, turn in a direction then taking an opposite turn at the next block. After completing this I will walk back, taking a different route, to my original location and search for sounds in the areas I have encircled. I will walk between the hours of 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm on Feburary 18th.
